Lisa

Lisa and I

I just got off the plane from my trip back east. When you have what you need and are *fairly* rested, you can get a TON done. I wrote almost 50 e-mails, 3 docs and cleared a lot from my mind. It was awesome...

After grabbing my bag and making it to the BART, I sat looking at my ragged luggage and my mind wandered. I studied the rips in the material, the faded sections of green that exposed the black plastic underneath. The worn leather handle, adorned by a twist of scarf; the blue has become almost transparent, the red, yellow and purple flowers worn thin. The old red carpet club badge, one of the few remaining remnants from my high travel days, reflects so many business trips around the country.

And then the image became even brighter to me. I bought this rolling luggage, home to my belongings on trips throughout the world, just prior to my trip to Ibiza. I remember the trip to Costco when I bought it with Lisa. The world was so different at that point; I was so naive.

I remember when Lisa tied the scarf on the luggage so that we could find it after our flights. The bag travelled with us to Ibiza, to Paris, throughout Australia, and trips through the US for the holidays.

I learned so much from Lisa and truly value that our friendship is developing again. I spent a brief hour with her prior to heading home and we went through a lot of what I am doing with Castfire, and she was astounded to hear my brand and advertising speak. Whodda thunk it?

Well...thank you, Lisa. For setting me on this path. For teaching me so much about communication, love, work, relationships, style, design, branding, and and and and...

Hard to believe that we met just about 6 years ago...
