What a couple of weeks
The past couple of weeks has been an incredible ride...and it doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. I could start with professional and then to personal. Or I could start with personal and then to professional. Or I could mix the two. Or I could do it based on calendar...
Provided that Nate just said, "You look the tiredest I have seen you," I am just going to get some thoughts down...
We opened a new dance lounge called Shine here in San Francisco. Located on Mission St, between 9th and 10th St, it was formerly the Red Eye Lounge. As much as I have gone out in SF, I never actually heard of, let alone went to, the Red Eye Lounge. For those of you who did, you will probably not recognize it AT ALL! There was a strong crew that redid everything from the bar to the bathrooms to the seating to the floors to the walls in just under 50 days. There were many, MANY days where we were walking out of there at 6-8 AM in the morning after working all night. My pix from opening night are here. Scumfrog came by and guest bartended for a bit and then closed out the night on the decks. Very fun evening...

About 2 weeks into construction, I mentioned that it would be very cool to have a photobooth in the corner that automatically uploads the finished pictures to Flickr for people to have. It was a fleeting, creative thought at 4 AM. A week or two later, Robert asked me how I was coming on the photobooth. The what? Well...a bunch of extremely late nights of coding led to a photobooth for the club! And here are some of the pix...

The coming weeks/months will see the webcam being replaced with a digital camera, additional LCDs and projects around the club displaying all of the photos from the night, and integration into our website. Still haven't had time to build out the website for Shine, so ShineSF.com actually redirects to our flickr account.
So...on top of that, Castfire, the startup I founded, has been kicking ass and taking names. Christoph has been the MAN and has written an amazing amount of code for the system. I am very happy with our progress and am excited to see us moving forward.
Tons more...but that is all I have time for!
